Tailor-made microarrays are of major importance for a variety of issues.
For high confidence expression profiling results on cost-efficient multiplex
arrays optimization of the array design is crucial. We achieve
optimized designs by our in house developed method for empirical selection
of best performing probes for each gene (Pre Selection Strategy, Fig.).

1. Predesign: each gene is represented by a large number of probes

3. Final design: selection of best performing oligos for each gene.
